Observed payout percentage = Coin out ÷ Coin in
If coin out is $920,000 and coin in is $1,000,000:
$920,000 ÷ $1,000,000 = 92.00%
That is an actual result for the measured period. It is not automatically the game’s certified theoretical RTP.
A game with a 92% theoretical RTP can produce 89%, 94%, or another result over a short period because jackpot timing and ordinary variance affect the sample. The larger and more representative the sample, the more useful the comparison becomes.

Hold is the casino’s win as a percentage of coin in:
Hold percentage = (Coin in − Coin out) ÷ Coin in
Using a simple example:
- Coin in: $500,000
- Coin out: $455,000

The same result can be stated as a 91.00% observed payout percentage.
Payout percentage + hold percentage = 100%
